Today Governor Tim Walz announced that Minnesota schools will not reopen this school year and that Distance Learning will continue throughout the rest of the school year. So going forward for Little Falls Community Schools, that means that we will continue operating as we’ve done for the past six weeks through the end of the scheduled school year of May 27.

We cannot and will not make any decisions on anything yet in June, July, or August; we will continue to seek guidance from the Governor’s office, Department of Education, Department of Health, and the State and Federal Governments.

One other announcement related to the school year: Friday, May 1, and Monday, May 4, will now be Professional Development Days for teachers and will not be school days for students. However, Tier I & Tier II childcare will be provided for the families currently using it…and we will be providing food delivery through our bus routes on both May 1 and May 4.

Please contact your school office or me with any questions or concerns you may have. Thank you.

Stephen Jones, Superintendent
Little Falls Community Schools
