As the calendar winds its way toward August, discussion continues to evolve in Minnesota about the reopening of schools in our state. Within the next week, the Minnesota Department of Education and Governor Walz are slated to announce their decision concerning the Learning Plan models that can be used when Little Falls starts the school year on September 8. Guidance on many COVID-related issues are also expected to be provided to schools next week. Within a few days after the announcement is made by MDE and the Governor, Little Falls Community Schools will be releasing a revised version of our 2020-2021 School Year Reopening Plan that we initially released on July 15. In addition, a parent survey will be sent out within a day or two after the announcement so we can gain valuable information from families in our district. The survey will cover five major areas of concern for us and for you: Preferred Learning Plan Model for your children, Transportation, Technology, Child Care, and Food Service. This information is vital for us as we continue to strive to do what’s best for our students and families. As always, please contact me with your questions or concerns at 632-2001 or by email at sjones@lfalls.k12.mn.us. Take care of yourselves.

Thank you,

Stephen Jones,
Superintendent
