If your child is identified as a close contact to a confirmed case of COVID-19 at school, parents will receive a phone call notification and follow up letter.

The following quarantine guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control is recommended for your child:

  • Get tested for COVID-19 immediately.

  • Complete 14 day, 10 day, or 7 day quarantine option.

    • 14 days: Safest option. Return to normal activities 14 full days after exposure.

    • 10 days: Return to normal activities on Day 11 after exposure. Has not had any symptoms of COVID-19. Wear a mask until 14 days after exposure.

    • 7 days: Return to normal activities on Day 8 after exposure. Receives negative PCR test for COVID-19 collected at least five days following exposure and has not had any symptoms of COVID-19. Wear a mask until 14 days after exposure.

Please monitor your child closely for symptoms, and keep them home from school if they experience ANY of the following in the 14 days following their exposure:
  • Fever of 100 degrees or higher, cough, difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, muscle pain, fatigue, headache, nasal congestion or runny nose.
